And you've finally cracked so the vent between us has opened a crack,17
And I'd like to repeat myself, and then I'd tell you how I told you so;18
But first: hey there, long time no see, and, since you're confused again, I'm back.17
You seem to be sad once more and all you have is the will to deny it;18
In the past, you'd do what you could and forget the rest, tempted to dream I'd help19
But now they believe in your memory, they leave after doing you in,18
So you ought to be happier, so I assume it's your conscience that hurts, eh?19

"It's okay that you say that" he said,
"You have big feelings."
So, to prove I could rise above it,
I just stopped talking.
"You're just like me" he would comfort,
"You have Depression."
He leeched off and scared me when down.
I vowed not to feel.
"You were a monster..." he tells
Me, "I had to drink."
I don't want to be like that so
I'll always blame me.
"I'm sorry" he randomly
Repeats, fist less slurred.
He knows I've friends for their parents;
I'll stop using them.
"You're always so distant" he says,
"Hey, are you okay?"
I don't hear him. Does it matter?
I'm mentally dead.
And I proved him wrong.

But instead you've always insisted on sheltering me from even me.
Nobody's telling me to react to it the way everybody else seems to
And I feel sorry for those others who consider it the lesser illness to be over it.
